WHAT TO EXPECT


Broken Hard Drive


  1. Our Techs will gather information from you in regard to the device. They will ask simple questions, such as what you were doing when the device stopped, did the computer/laptop get dropped, if it was near water, etc.
  2. Once the Techs gather enough information, we will then take the device from you and begin our diagnosis.
  3. The Techs will first see what type of hard drive the device has
  4. We will remove the hard drive from the device and connect it to one of our work stations via USB to see if we can get access to it. a. If this does not work, we will then use a program to see if we can get any files from the device
  5. If we can we will try to save every file that we can from the hard drive a. If we are unable to get any files from the hard drive, we will inform you.
  6. Once all possible data is expunged from the broken hard drive, we will store the hard drive in a safe location for the remaining portion of our work.
  7. We will replace the hard drive, if it is an old, mechanical one, with a 250GB SSD. If you would like more storage, or if you would like an SSD that matches your old Hard drive’s capacity, please let our Techs know.
  8. We will format the new hard drive with the latest version of Windows/Mac.
  9. Our Techs will then run a few tests to see if the performance of the computer was affected.
  10. After the Operating System is installed, our Techs will then do system updates.
  11. Once this completes, we will run some more tests to see if the performance was altered by the updates.
  12. We will then install standard software for web surfing and general computer use.
  13. The Techs will run one last set of tests before contacting you for a drop off / pickup time/date.
  14. We will give you your device with the broken hard drive.


Hard Drive Copying


  1. Our Techs will receive your device.
  2. We will then proceed to create a bootable device with a copy of your whole hard drive.
  3. Once this is complete, we will inform you and setup a drop off/pickup date for the device and computer/laptop
    1. If you are doing this to switch over to a new hard drive, we will instead install the new hard drive and format it with the copy of your hard drive before contacting you.
